Here at Siromer we are pretty excited about a new launch of ours, but before we get into the details, let us explain the context!
As a family owned tractor company, it is fair to say that we are all pretty into anything mechanical. Tractors, cars, equipment, you name it, we are interested! And that interest also extended into our television watching habits with a little programme called Robot Wars.
Started in 1998, Robot Wars was a programme featuring home-made robots and a gladiator style battle to the death…or should we say breakdown? Each week new robots would appear with different features, functions, and weaponry ready to take down their opponent.
Safe to say, it was pretty fantastic and a staple of the Siromer household.
And this nostalgia, mixed with a bit of ‘work smart, not hard’ ingenuity mixed together as we thought up our latest model…
The Siromer Robotic Flail Mower.
This Robotic Flail Mower is our latest piece in our Robotic Mower line and like any good parents we truly cannot pick a favourite out of the entire collection, they are all wonderful!
But aside for nostalgia, what makes a robotic mower such an interesting piece of equipment to have on your smallholding?
Why Choose a Robotic Mower?
Now a robotic mower has a couple of clear advantages over your normal mechanical mower. For example…
A robotic mower is made for the jobs you’d rather not ride.
We all have that one dodgy bit of terrain that feels a bit precarious to ride your tractor on. We avoid it, we pretend it doesn’t exist, and we try to ignore the eyesore that the ever growing grass is on our smallholding. Or maybe you even try to hop on your regular mower to give it a go and have to white knuckle it the entire time.
However with the Siromer robotic mower you can wave those dodgy rides goodbye.
Made to manage verges, banks, orchards and paddocks with ease, the Siromer RC mowers offer a safe, efficient and operator-friendly performance. By allowing your robotic mower to do the difficult jobs, you can relax knowing your grass looks great without having to sacrifice your own safety to get the job done.

2. You can put your feet up as your robotic mower does your groundskeeping.
Need we say more??
With a remote that works up to a 400m distance (for rotary mowers) and 650m (for flail mowers), when you use the Siromer Robotic Mower you can truly have your cake and eat it. Literally, you could eat cake as you mow from the comfort of your own seat.
After all, who said groundskeeping has to be a drag?

3. The robotic mower is just good old fun
As an adult it is easy to begin to lose the whimsy and joy of life. With a mortgage, news that seems to get more catastrophic by the day, and endless responsibilities it can all get a bit much. And let’s be honest, as smallholders ourselves, we can understand that whilst having a smallholding is a dream, with the endless jobs and tasks to do, some days it can feel more like a nightmare.
And that is why the robotic mower is one of our favourite bits of kit.
The robotic mower turns something tedious into something fun without sacrificing results. You can be productive whilst also having a great time!
The robotic mower feels like an adult scalextric, and we have to admit that the team always fights between them to get to have a go at using this piece of equipment.

4. The robotic mower is great for those with access issues
And of course we would be remiss to not mention how beneficial a robotic mower can be for those with access issues.
Life happens, and sometimes our bodies don’t allow us to work as we would like. Hills or terrains that were previously fine now feel unmanageable, heavy work on grounds has become exhausting, and the risk of falling becomes a constant anxiety during yardwork.
And that is the beauty of the robotic mower!
With maximum working slopes of 60°, adjustable cutting table heights of 2-20CM, and of course the remote controlled operation, you no longer need to worry about slippy grass, steep hills, or uneven surfaces again! By letting your mower do the hard work for you, you can save yourself from any falls, injuries, or even just unnecessary exhaustion.

The Robotic Mower Model by Model:
So how do the different Siromer robotic mower models compare to one another?

Whilst our first 3 rotary mower models (The RCM55, RCM80 AND RCM100) just differ in terms of mowing width (55CM, 80CM and 100CM) our newest model the RCF80 also has a flail mower attached on the front making it even more capable for even the toughest of jobs.
To compare please check out our comparison chart below:

Standardised Spec for The Robotic Mower:
So what about the more detailed spec?
Well, with a remote control range of up to 400m for the flail mower, and 680m for our rotary mower, these crawler-mounted mowers cut on slopes of up to up to 45° (for rotary models) and 60° (for flail models) with ease.

Each mower has an electric crawler drive with 3-speeds and forward/reverse options. Our rotary options come with petrol powered LONCIN engines, whilst the RCF80 comes complete with a diesel KOOP192 engine.

Our rotary mower also comes with an optional bulldozer blade attachment if you’ve got some very troublesome grass!
All features come with safe relocation without starting the blades, LED lights for help in those winter evenings and an easy start button as standard.

All models also have adjustable cutting heights of 20-180mm.
And if you fancy a regular mower?
And if you fancy something a little more analog, Siromer also offers a wide variety of normal mowers including chain harrows, toppers, rollers, flail mowers, topper flemings, finishing mowers, verge mowers, and atv mowers. To learn more please click here.
